We started with a small thought — to reach out and help 5,000 to 7,000 homes in our community.
We didn’t know where this journey would take us.
But as we knocked on doors, we saw something that truly broke our hearts.
My name is Shakuntala, and I have been serving blind people here in Delhi for the past 10 years. This is not just a job—it is my life, my mission, and my family.
Today, I speak not only as someone who manages this service, but as someone struggling to hold everything together.
Just a few days ago, the back of our space, including our small kitchen, was flooded. The water came in quickly and took everything with it—our supplies, cooking area, and most of the essentials we had gathered through months of effort.
Many of the homes we visited were quiet… too quiet.
No sound of laughter, no children playing, no smell of food from the kitchen.
Just silence.
So many families had no one around.
Some had left, some had lost everything.
And the ones who stayed were holding on with very little.
It was painful to see.
That’s when Tiffin Seva began — from a place of love and deep need.
We thought, “If we can’t solve all their problems, at least we can give them a warm meal — something fresh, something cooked with love.”
With every tiffin we provide, we’re not just offering food —
we’re saying, “Aap Akele Nahi Hain — Hum Hain Aapke Saath, Aapke Liye.”
This journey hasn’t been easy.
We’ve faced many hard days —
Days when we didn’t have enough groceries, enough money, or enough hands to help.
And it hurts when we see someone in need and can’t do more for them.
But I’m not alone.
My wife stands with me every single day.
She wakes up early, cuts the vegetables, stirs the pots, and packs the food.
She never complains.
She never stops.
Her hands cook the meals, but it’s her heart that gives them warmth.
This Seva is as much hers as it is mine.
Without her, it wouldn’t be possible.
This is more than just giving food — it’s giving hope, love, and a little bit of peace.
And as long as we can, we will keep going.
Because even one full stomach, one smiling face, makes it all worth it.
Right now, we run everything from our small home kitchen.
But we have a big dream — to shift our Seva to a better place,
Where we can cook in large vessels and feed more people.
A place where no one is turned away hungry.
Many think that once you construct a building, life becomes easier. But that’s not true.
What matters is not the structure, but the souls inside it. And right now, our people are suffering.
I’m not asking for sympathy. I’m asking for support.
A little help to rebuild, to keep the kitchen running, to keep the blind children safe, fed, and cared for.
